Employee Spotlight: Keith Thomas

"Love will make you do things you never thought possible. For example, I was a truck driver and a die-hard bachelor until I met and fell in love with my wife Theresa. I knew that Theresa would never marry me just to sit at home alone while I was on the road, so that meant a new profession and that meant an education. So, at the age of 52 I went to college and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in accounting. I chose accounting because of the experiences during my truck driving career. I delivered groceries and supplies to independent restaurateurs of pizzerias, Italian and Greek restaurants and delicatessens. The majority of my customers were immigrants who fully embraced the American dream. Yet many struggled with finances, taxes and making ends meet. My goal is to use accounting to help small businesses survive and thrive.

At Alert-Tech Systems, I reconcile the bank and credit card statements. The company’s recorded deposits and withdrawals must agree with those on the bank statement. Recording your payments to Alert-Tech in our accounting software is an extensive process. My bank reconciliations ensure that no mistakes or omissions occur in the crediting of your account. I also order parts for service calls and new installations. My goal is to find the right part at the best price and have it delivered on time. "
